Recognizing #4 LDPE Plastics

LDPE Plastic

Recognizing LDPE Plastic

LDPE ( also known as Low Density Polyethylene ) is a type 4 plastic.  Its it’s used because it’s tough, flexible and typically transpaernet.  LDPE plastic is often used in cable insulation and flexible bottles.  LDPE is also used for making breadbags, tote bags, dry cleaning bags, furniture, carpets, and squeezable bottles.

Like All plastics, don’t worry too much about recognizing LDPE if you’re trying to recycle.    Simply sort the obvious plastics, and bring them down to our recycling center and we can help you with the rest.   The most important  part is separating your plastics at all.  Plastics have a long life, and keeping the greenhouse gasses out of the landfill is the best thing to focus on.
